Amazing Retro/Vintage Light Streak Photos of Christopher Kilkus

26 Aug

About a year ago, I did not like Fashion photography that much. Matter of fact, I always felt like it was really boring to shoot people. You see, I am that person who loves nature and all that encompasses it. Well, I have to admit that regardless, I still valued fashion photography and how in essence, it is a very powerful medium of expression. There is a certain technique in photography that I really find beautiful, and that is the Retro/Vintage style in post processing. If I do get the time, which I’m hoping I will, (btw, today is my all I want to do is blog day) I will post various other photographers who have done this technique and made it look so awesome.

Christopher Kilkus is a professional photographer whose works speaks of themselves. He discovered his passion for fashion and photography very early in life. He is originally from San Francisco. Christopher has successfully created himself as a household name in fashion photography, branding forever 21 and Heritage 1981 (now you kinda get the Retro vibe right)

He has worked with a solid cliantelle list  such as BCBG Max Azria, Herve Leger, Forever 21, Macy’s, GAP, Banana Republic, Wet Seal, Fox Girls, Billabong, Sony Music, Island Def Jam, Interscope Records, Vogue Magazine, Marie Claire Magazine, Interview Magazine, Maxim Magazine, Surface Magazine, Teen Magazine, & others.

Here’s some of his Amazing work.

1631 AD.

Happy New year folks. Its been a good year (2010 that is) I mean, I have totally fallen in love with photography. Digital Photography to be precise.

I think this is one of the best fields in our century, being able to showcase art, and the ability to give forth that ‘feel good’ feeling.

I did not start this blog a long time ago, but heck, It is here to stay, I used to have a personal blog for two years, which I have not posted a thing since I started this one. I hope that this year will be one full of growth into this photography field. I have big plans this year. I plan to get my first DSLR camera. Plan to take my skills to a whole new level. I plan, pray and hope that I will be able to learn the most from my photographer friends who are waaay ahead of me in the game.

Any way, I’ll be telling you guys more, so keep it locked.

On to the next one. The blog title, 1631 AD. Why did Io decide to name it that way, well, I was kinda thinking that I should post the shots I took on Jan 1st., you know, just so as to start the year with a bit of  style 🙂

lol, its called so because It gave me a feeling of Vintage, like real African vintage. I was at my grandmas for New year, ( a family get together) and here is the 1631 AD inspired photo.

One thing for sure is zi love REtro and Vintage. It is just an  awesome aspect of photography.  Any way, its a new week,,, with new things , new projects coming up. I am working whith guys from Church to do this thing on 24th night. I have a feeling its gonna be awesome,  I mean, it has to right??.. I’m involved, I also get to work with the Sunday School Children on a Christmas song thing. I have this week to know if I can teach music. No more than 3 adults and semi adults like me will be there, so I can screw up and love it,…

Aay who,. this week is going to be hectic, I just woke up and go t mad, mad inspiration from  you tube videos I left streaming last night. there are amazing 16 year old photographers and videographers out there. The best thing is that their families support that.Isn’t  that just awesome. O.k, I quit talking too much,… but I figured with no one around, I had to get my self heard somehow,… you know….
